Madera County Man Sentenced to Life Without Parole in Kidnapping-Murder Case

A Madera County jury has convicted a man of first-degree murder in a case involving a kidnapping, and he has now been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison, authorities said.
According to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office, a jury found Vicente Jasso guilty of first-degree murder and determined that the killing occurred during the commission of a kidnapping, a special circumstance under California law.
On Thursday, Ernest LiCalsi sentenced Jasso to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He also received an additional sentence of 25 years to life, plus four years and four months.
Prosecutors credited the Madera County Sheriff’s Office for its role in the investigation, highlighting the work of multiple officials involved in the case.
The district attorney’s office also acknowledged the Camacho family, the victim’s relatives, for their continued involvement throughout the case.
