Fresno Police Arrest Man Accused of Holding Gun to Victim’s Head in Domestic Fight

Authorities on Wednesday arrested a 24-year-old man following an investigation into a domestic disturbance that allegedly involved a firearm, physical assault, and threats, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Rayvon McCoy was booked on multiple felony and misdemeanor allegations stemming from an incident reported earlier that day.

According to investigators, a confidential victim was dropped off at home by a friend when a disturbance occurred between the victim and a significant other. Authorities allege McCoy placed a firearm to the victim’s head during the confrontation. The victim and McCoy then struggled over the weapon, during which the victim was able to remove the magazine from the firearm and kick it away.

Investigators said McCoy then choked the victim and demanded the firearm be released. After the victim complied, McCoy allegedly struck the victim several times, pushed the victim to the ground and told the victim not to contact police. The victim sustained visible injuries.

Based on the investigation, McCoy is accused of felony corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, assault with a firearm, criminal threats, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, child cruelty, and intimidating a witness.
