Visalia Police Arrest 2 in Shots Fired Investigation
Visalia police arrested two men following a shots fired investigation Saturday morning after officers responded to reports of gunfire near Grape Avenue and Fifth Street.
Officers were called at approximately 10:49 a.m. and later determined the shots had been fired at a residence in the 100 block of Fifth Street, police said. A perimeter was established around the home, and occupants were ordered to exit.
Four people came out of the residence without incident: 19-year-old Alexander Cazares, 19-year-old Alan Martinez, an adult female, and a juvenile female. Officers then cleared the home and confirmed no one was injured.
During the investigation, officers located numerous spent 5.56 caliber shell casings in the backyard, according to police.
Investigators said Cazares had brought a privately manufactured “ghost” AR-15 short-barreled rifle to the residence and fired several rounds in the backyard.

The firearm was later located inside a bedroom.
Cazares and Martinez were arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, conspiracy, and multiple firearms-related charges.
