Merced Police Investigate Fatal Shooting, Arrest Made
The Merced Police Department is investigating a homicide after a 28-year-old man was found shot in April and has arrested a suspect in connection with the case.
On April 14, at about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Devonwood Drive for reports of shots fired, according to the department.
When officers arrived, they found Marshay Wilson, 28, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives took over the investigation and identified Ivan Gonzalez, 24, as a suspect. On Thursday, after what police described as an extensive investigation, detectives served multiple search warrants at several locations tied to the case.
Gonzalez was arrested and booked on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
