Fresno Police Arrest 12 on DUI Suspicion During Weekend Enforcement
The Fresno Police Department arrested 12 drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence during an enforcement operation Saturday, authorities said.
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with a suspended driver’s license, according to the department.
The department said it will conduct another DUI enforcement operation on May 23, along with additional patrols and checkpoints throughout the year aimed at reducing impaired driving and improving roadway safety.
Funding for the enforcement efforts was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
