Are You Ready for 103-Degree Temps, Fresno?
Fresno is a bit chilly now and there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms Tuesday evening.
But when the work week begins next Monday, the thermometer could hit 103 degrees, the National Weather Service says.
The day after that likely will break the 100-degree mark, too.
It’s been an unpredictable spring weather-wise in the Valley with whiplashes of rain, dry spells, and hot and cold weather. And that uncertainty might continue until summer arrives with its usual scorching heat.
The goods news is that the extended forecast from The Weather Channel shows a dip into the 90s and 80s after that two-day furnace blast.
Fresno Nears Its ‘Normal’ Water Year Rainfall Total
Longtime residents are familiar with Fresno’s boom-or-bust yearly rainfall totals.
But the 2025-2026 water season is likely to land near the so-called Fresno “normal” of 10.99 inches.
After a trace of rain recorded Monday, the city’s total stood at 10.64 inches for the period that began on Oct. 1 and will culminate on Sept. 30.
Thus the Valley (and California) will have seen four consecutive years of healthy rainfall after careening through cycles of record-breaking drought.
California is heading into its fourth straight spring of strong water storage, with most of the state’s major reservoirs nearly full, despite one of the worst snowpacks in recorded history.
State reservoirs are at 118% of the historical average for late April.
