World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Will Return to the Kings Speedway Dirt
After going dark last season, the lights are back on at Kings Speedway in Hanford and the schedule now includes a Sept. 22 date for World of Outlaws, sprint-car racing’s premier series.
World of Outlaws announced Thursday that it had added the event on the 3/8th-mile clay oval to its California swing. The other California dates: The $83,000-to-win Dennis Roth Classic at Stockton Dirt Track, Sept. 18-19; Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, Sept. 25, and Ventura Raceway, Sept. 26.
Kings Speedway has a long association with the World of Outlaws. Jeff Swindell won the first WOO race there in 1985, and Lemoore’s Carson Macedo won at his home track in 2024.
The San Joaquin Valley has had a huge impact on sprint-car racing in recent years with drivers like Macedo and his younger brother, Cole; Corey Day, and Giovanni Sclezi; and team owners such as Dennis Roth, Jason Meyers, and Tarlton Motorsports.
Reopening Kings Speedway and landing a WOO night of racing further cements the Valley’s reputation as a sprint-car hotbed. It’s a trajectory that began when Meyers became the first California-born driver to claim the Outlaws season championship in 2010 and won again in 2011.
One More Time Promotions led by Bubby Morse and Don Chambers are running Kings Speedway. Morse is a past promoter at the track.
