Valley Children’s Welcome 14 Pediatric Residents With White Coat Ceremony

The positive impact of a Clovis medical school on local healthcare is evident as Valley Children’s Hospital welcomes 14 new residents to its pediatric residency program.

Five of the 14 doctors are graduates of the California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Clovis — more than any other medical school.

The hospital is hosting a White Coat Ceremony at noon Friday, June 26, to welcome the residents. The coats symbolize a commitment to compassionate care, professional responsibility, and the children and families the residents will serve.

Hospital officials say Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program offers comprehensive training that develops strong clinical skills and establishes a foundation in primary care, medical education, advocacy, and leadership.

Residents are doctors who continue their training under the supervision of board-certified attending physicians.
