Two bank employees dead after Kentucky robbery; person of interest in custody

A person of interest in a deadly bank robbery was taken into custody Friday, according to Kentucky State Police.

Two people a man and a woman were killed in the robbery Thursday in Brea, just south of Lexington. Authorities said both victims were employees of the bank.

The robbery and shooting occurred just after 2 p.m. at a U.S. Bank branch. Officials said members of the public were inside at the time.

"Somebody came in to our town and hurt one of our own," KSP Trooper Scottie Pennington said. "I don't even have to know them...they work right here, so I'm aggravated. People behind me are aggravated. We're sworn to protect our community, and that's what we're going to our best to do."This story was originally published by the
