Sanger Police Warn Residents About Unsolicited Door-to-Door Water Testing Claims

The Sanger Police Department are warning residents to be cautious after receiving reports of individuals going door-to-door claiming they need to test residential water for chemicals.

According to the Sanger police, the City of Sanger is not conducting door-to-door water testing of private residences. Officials said city personnel and authorized utility staff do not need to enter homes to perform routine water quality testing.

Residents are encouraged to exercise caution when approached by anyone requesting access to their homes for water testing or similar services. Officials advise residents to ask for identification and verify credentials before engaging with anyone claiming to represent the city.

Authorities said residents should contact law enforcement if a situation appears suspicious or if an individual refuses to leave when asked.

Officials also encouraged residents to share the warning with family members, neighbors, and elderly relatives who may be more vulnerable to scams and fraudulent solicitations.

Anyone who feels threatened or believes a crime is occurring should call 911.
