Sanger Police Arrest Probationer After Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Stolen Gun, Meth

A man on probation was arrested Wednesday after police said a traffic stop led to the discovery of a stolen firearm and methamphetamine.
An officer conducted the traffic stop in the 400 block of West Sixth Street and contacted Sergio Montes, according to the Madera Police Department.
During the investigation, officers found Montes in possession of a stolen firearm and methamphetamine, police said.
Authorities said Montes is currently on probation for similar offenses and is a documented gang member.
Montes was booked into the Madera County Jail on multiple weapons- and drug-related charges.
The case remains under investigation.
