Porterville Police Arrest Fraud Suspect Following Months-Long Investigation
Porterville police arrested a 40-year-old woman after a lengthy investigation into a fraud case in which a victim was defrauded of more than $42,000, authorities said.
Officers responded on April 1 to a report of fraud. The case was assigned to Porterville Police Department detectives, who conducted an extensive investigation and served multiple search warrants to financial institutions and other companies.
Through the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Rachel Beltran who authorities said has a significant history of fraud-related offenses.
On Tuesday, detectives located Beltran at a residence in Porterville. Investigators obtained and executed an arrest warrant for Beltran and a search warrant for the home. During the search, detectives found Beltran and evidence indicating ongoing fraudulent criminal activity, police said.
Beltran was taken into custody and booked into the South County Detention Facility.
