Modesto Police Investigate Homicide After Assault Reported

Officers with the Modesto Police Department are investigating a homicide after responding to a reported assault in the area of Monterey and Thrasher avenues, where they located an assault victim who later died.

According to police on Thursday, officers responded to the call and found the victim at the scene. The victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Detectives with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit are now handling the investigation.

Police said the case remains active and no additional information will be released at this time.
