Madera DUI Arrest Leads to Discovery of Nitrous Oxide Tanks, Illegal Fireworks
A DUI arrest in Madera on Tuesday led to the discovery of nitrous oxide tanks believed to be used for inhalation and illegal fireworks inside a vehicle, the California Highway Patrol Madera office said.
CHP said the items were found after officers arrested a driver for suspected impaired driving. Illegal fireworks were turned over to CalFire for disposal.
Officials warned that impaired driving and illegal fireworks both pose serious public safety risks, especially during dry conditions in Madera County, where a single spark can cause significant damage or fires.
