California Highway Patrol officers assisted in the delivery of a baby girl early Tuesday morning after responding to a report of a woman in active labor along Highway 99 in Chico.
At 5;24 a.m., CHP Chico officers received a call of a woman in active labor in the area of Highway 99 at Southgate Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers arrived moments later and, with assistance from CHP dispatch, helped deliver a healthy baby girl.
Authorities said both the mother and baby are doing well.
