Hanford Police Arrest Armed Felon After Pursuit Ends in Crash, K-9 Deployment

Police arrested an armed felon Thursday after a theft call at Home Depot escalated into a vehicle pursuit, crash and K-9 apprehension, authorities said.

At 3:17 p.m., officers with the Hanford Police Department responded to a report of a theft in progress at Home Depot.

A store employee provided a suspect vehicle’s license plate, allowing officers to locate the vehicle near Centennial Drive and Greenfield Avenue.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, identified as Raul Razo-Villasenior, 32, who allegedly refused commands and drove away, nearly striking an officer.

Suspect Crashes Into Parked RV

A pursuit was initiated but later terminated due to unsafe driving, according to the Hanford Police Department. After the pursuit ended, Razo-Villasenior allegedly discarded a loaded firearm with an obliterated serial number from his vehicle before crashing into a parked RV near Zinfandel Drive and Berkshire Lane, disabling the car.

Razo-Villasenior fled on foot and was apprehended after a K-9 officer deployed K-9 Ace, which assisted in taking him into custody after he allegedly resisted arrest.

Investigators recovered the discarded firearm and located cocaine and stolen Home Depot merchandise inside the vehicle. Officers confirmed Razo-Villasenior is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms.

No officers or members of the public were injured. Razo-Villasenior was booked into the Kings County Jail on multiple charges.
