Fresno Unified Offers Over 100 Free Summer Camps to Students
This summer, Fresno Unified students can build a hobby, explore a career path, or embark on an adventure through district-run summer camps.
Fresno Unified is offering more than 100 different summer camp opportunities to pupils free of charge.
“We’re expanding our summer camp offerings this year, providing an even broader range of engaging activities tailored to our students’ diverse interests. Our camps offer a dynamic and enriching way to keep students active, curious, and connected throughout the summer,” said Superintendent Misty Her. “I love that our Summer Camps support all of our district goals: literacy, college and career readiness, and life skills.”
The district will host camps under the umbrellas of adventure, sports and fitness, creative arts, college and career, and STEM throughout July.
Students can choose from an array of options including pottery, music production, scuba diving, soccer, and aviation. There are opportunities for students in grades TK-12.
“Whether your student loves sports, the arts, science, leadership, or trying something brand new, there’s a camp experience waiting just for them,” Connie Cha, distractor of expanded learning, said in a statement. “Summer camp is more than just something to do — it’s a place where students discover new passions, make new friends, build confidence, and create memories that last long after summer ends,”
Fresno Unified Summer Camp Registration Open
Registration for Fresno Unified’s popular free Summer Camps through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program will begin Tuesday, May 5.
The district will host camps at district schools and at community-based locations, including the Fresno Discovery Center, Fresno State, and Fresno Chaffee Zoo.
The three camp sessions will run July 13-17, July 20-24, and July 27-31. Some run all day from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., while others have morning and/or afternoon sessions.
Priority registration, offered to unduplicated pupils, will begin on Tuesday and general registration will open Friday, May 8. An unduplicated pupil is a student who is classified as an English learner, eligible for a free or reduced-price meal, or is a foster youth.
Registration is delivered through a unique link sent via text message. Families can click on the link to view campus options for their child.
Summer camps are in addition to summer academies, which will be held in June to support academic growth in literacy and math for elementary and middle school students and provide credit recovery and accelerated classes for high school students.
