Fresno Law Enforcement Raises $23,000 for Special Olympics

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, CHP-Fresno, and Starbucks raised $23,234 for the Northern California chapter of Special Olympics on May 8.

Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said the funds from Badges for Buckets will all go to local Special Olympics athletes.

“One story in particular shines bright from this day,” Botti said.

 “A local community member was in a Starbucks drive-thru and started asking the deputy stationed nearby about the event. This person was on the phone with their boss, who could hear the conversation. The business owner was so excited to hear about law enforcement supporting Special Olympics that they made a $5,000 donation.”
