Fresno County Authorities Arrest Man After Stabbing Outside Prather Post Office

A 75-year-old Prather man was arrested Thursday after authorities say he stabbed another man during a fight in the parking lot of the Prather Post Office, leaving the victim critically injured.

Fresno County sheriff’s dispatchers received a report of a stabbing shortly before 9 a.m. at the post office at 29460 Auberry Road, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived and found a man in his mid-40s suffering from a severe stab wound. A medical helicopter transported the man to a hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. Authorities said medical personnel later stabilized his injuries.

Investigators identified the suspect as Theodore Gallegos, 75, of Prather. Deputies later located and arrested him.

Gallegos was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $20,000.

Investigators said the two men knew each other and became involved in a fistfight in the parking lot before Gallegos allegedly used a knife to stab the other man.
