Fresno Authorities Arrest Man After Seizing Nearly 1,300 Pounds of Illegal Fireworks
Fresno fire investigators and police officers arrested a man Thursday after authorities said they found nearly 1,300 pounds of illegal fireworks valued at more than $10,000.
The Fresno Fire Department said the adult male was taken into custody during a joint operation with the Fresno Police Department. Authorities said he is facing felony charges for possession with intent to sell illegal fireworks, along with a $2,250 citation.
Officials said illegal fireworks are dangerous and unpredictable and warned residents against selling or using them.
“A trip to the emergency room isn’t the only way fireworks can ruin your summer,” the Fresno Fire Department said in a statement. “Getting caught selling illegal fireworks can change your future just as fast.”
