Fresno Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested After Online Sale Meetup Confrontation

A 19-year-old suspect was arrested after an armed robbery during a meeting arranged through an online sales listing, the Fresno Police Department told GV Wire.

On June 5 at about 8:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of South Holly regarding an armed robbery. The victim told officers he had posted an item for sale online and was contacted by a person who arranged to meet at the location to complete the transaction.

When the victim arrived, he was approached by a suspect who asked where he was from, then opened the victim’s car doors and demanded the property for sale, according to authorities. The suspect then pulled out a black pistol and pointed it at the victim.

The suspect took the item from the back seat of the victim’s vehicle and walked away westbound through an alley.

Detectives later identified the suspect as Darnell Deshawn Huff, 19. The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Huff on Tuesday.

He was booked into the Fresno County Jail with a bail set at $110,000.

Huff faces multiple felony charges, including robbery, and assault with a firearm, according to arrest records.
