Coalinga Police Arrest 2 After Drug Bust, Seize ‘Ghost Gun’
Two people were arrested after police served a narcotics-related search warrant at a Coalinga residence and discovered drugs and a firearm, authorities said.
Officers with the Coalinga Police Department executed the warrant around 8:30 a.m. Friday at a home in the 300 block of West Polk Street, according to a department news release issued Monday.
During the search, officers found items related to the sale of narcotics, as well as an illegal, privately manufactured 9mm Glock-style pistol, often referred to as a “ghost gun,” police said.
The resident, Adan Rivero of Coalinga, was taken into custody along with his girlfriend, Joseline Montellano.
Rivero faces multiple charges, including convicted felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of an unserialized firearm, child endangerment, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, and possession of a scanner while using it in the commission of a crime, police said.
Montellano was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and willfully resisting or delaying a public officer.
Both were booked at the Coalinga Police Department and later transported to the Fresno County Jail, according to authorities.
