Clovis Police Arrest 36 on DUI Suspicion in April

The Clovis Police Department handled 7,649 calls for service in April as part of what officials described as a new monthly effort to keep the community informed about police activity.

According to the department’s April 2026 Spotlight report, officers made 441 arrests during the month, including 36 arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Patrol staff also took 100 collision reports, while officers responded to 41 vehicle burglaries and 14 residential burglaries.

Public Safety Dispatchers answered 3,192 emergency 911 calls during the month, the report said.

Police said the calls for service category includes police reports, traffic stops, collisions, community contacts, and follow-up investigations.

The department also issued crime prevention reminders to residents, encouraging people to report suspicious activity immediately, lock doors and activate alarms, use exterior lighting and security cameras, and avoid leaving valuables in plain view.

Other recommendations included checking mail daily, watching for card skimming devices at payment terminals, keeping records of serial numbers for valuable items, and remaining aware of surroundings.
