Clovis Medical School to Graduate Largest Class of New Doctors in School History

California Health Sciences University will honor its largest graduating class of new doctors and master’s students Sunday during its 2026 commencement and hooding ceremony at the Save Mart Center at Fresno State.

The university said 171 graduates will receive diplomas, including 131 medical students and 40 students from its master’s program.

CHSU officials said the Class of 2026 achieved a 100% residency match rate, with 65% of graduates entering primary care residencies. The university also said 29% of those residencies are located in the Central Valley and 70% are in California.

University leaders said the graduating class represents the school’s third and largest cohort to date as it works to train and retain physicians to serve the region.

“I’m so proud to see our third cohort of 131 medical students graduate to become osteopathic physicians and serve as compassionate, knowledgeable and skilled clinicians,” said John Graneto, dean of the CHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.

“With over 300 medical school graduates to date, we are advancing our mission to improve access to healthcare by educating and training physicians to serve the Central Valley and beyond.”
