Clovis High School on Shelter-in-Place After Reported Threat, Police Say
Police responded to Clovis High School on Wednesday after a reported threat to the campus, authorities said.
Clovis police officers were assisting Clovis Unified School District police and school staff regarding the threat, according to a statement posted at 1:28 p.m.
The school was placed on a shelter-in-place status while officials worked to determine whether it was safe, police said.
Authorities said additional information would be released as it is confirmed.
The Clovis Unified School District released a statement saying:
“Clovis High School is currently in a Shelter in Place. This is to keep students indoors and limit outside movement around campus while we work with Clovis Police Department to investigate a suspicious call that was made to our school.
“We are also aware that schools in a neighboring district have also received similar calls that are being investigated by local agencies. You can find more details, and news of safety procedures and parents’ roles during such events on our website: https://www.cusd.com/school-safety.
“Parents have been notified of this safety protocol and will be kept informed until its conclusion.
“Clovis Elementary had already released for the school day and students still on campus for afterschool programs will remain indoors until the Shelter in Place is lifted at Clovis High School.”

The Fresno Police Department said Fresno High School and Bullard High School were among the campuses affected.
Fresno High was under lockdown while Bullard was under a shelter-in-place order. Police confirmed that both schools were cleared.
