2,500 Volunteers Can’t Wait to Make Fresno Sparkle on Saturday
Everywhere you look Saturday morning, you’re bound to see Fresno residents cleaning up their city.
That’s because Beautify Fresno’s annual spring-cleaning blitz will encompass 25 individual cleanup and beautification projects across the city.
And when the dirty work is done and the work gloves are put away, there will be a thank you party in the Fresno Grizzlies parking lot on H Street downtown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The celebration will include food trucks, music, and youth activities for the expected 2,500 volunteers.
The Greatest American Cleanup is part of Mayor Jerry Dyer’s year-long celebration honoring Fresno and America’s 250th birthday.
Among the projects volunteers will tackle Saturday is planting trees at the Jensen Avenue interchange on Highway 41. This project is being overseen by Caltrans and Tree Fresno.
Last year, the beautification initiative took on 20 projects, with 1,100 volunteers removing 15,200 pounds of trash.
We don’t always see the impact right away… but every act of care leaves a mark.
Small actions ripple out into a cleaner, greener, more beautiful world.
